Wedding cats

In my country, we call the dolls placed on the information desk of the wedding party "welcome dolls".
Sometimes Barbie in wedding dress stands with Ken.
A few couples order the dolls which are like them.
Four persons bought Runo's bridal dolls.

Lots of people love the stuffed animals decorated with flowers and ribbons.
Various animals can be welcome dolls.


Only tie and veil are OK.

This bow tie is ribbon with elastic tape.

With necklace and bouquet.


If making clothes, they are very simple.

This is a skirt like apron.
Wrap the waist and tie the ribbon at the front.



Jacket or cape of felt.


Cut out 2 pieces. Add seam allowance only the back.


Sew up the back. (c-d) Notch on the c.


And sew up the collar from outside. (a-b-c)


Fold the collar. (e-b-e)
Put on the cat, and sew the front with beads or buttons.


A veil with beads.






These cats are simple, so making is easy.

Snow girl

Girl version of snowman. 20 centimeters.


Though she may not be cute, if you make a boyfriend for her, she'll be happy.


Each part needs seam allowance.
I used polyester fleece which is stretch just a little.


Sew the body and legs.
Stuff, and put them together.


Make the head.
Stick 2 sheets of felt together, and cut out twigs.


Sew up the middle (a-b,c-d, and e-d).
Don't sew b-c. It's the opening.


Sew around the face (d-f-d) with twigs together.


Turn inside out. Stuff it with polyester fiberfill.


Stitch the nose, and attach it on the face. Embroider the mouth.


Glue the eyes and brows.
Stitch the head to the chest.


The arms don't need seam allowance.
Glue the fingers together.
Put a wire which is wrapped with thin cotton batting. Sew the arm line.


Make a hole on the shoulder, stick the wire, and stitch the arm.


Glue the buttons of felt.


Pattern.

This doll is 62cm in height.

Sammutuspeitteen nätimpi versio

Aikaisemmassa postauksessa esittelin eräille lapsukaisille ompelemiani vaatteita, lähinnä housuja. Nyt vuoron saavat aikuisten lahjat. Isäntäkin sanoi ompeluksiani seuraten, että "Kätevää kun tekee kaikille saman niin ei tarvitse keksiä jokaiselle erikseen.." Totta! Ja vielä kätevämpää on tarkistaa täältä blogista, että mitäs sitä viime jouluna antoikaan...

 

Housuista kahdet tulivat jo bumerangin lailla takaisin. Vyötärön resori oli sittenkin liian iso, joten sakset esille ja saumuri surraamaan. Kolmevuotias poika ei näyttänyt paljoa pöksyistä piittaavan, mutta pojan äitiä ne ainakin näytti miellyttävän. Kypärämyssykin näytti olevan sopiva, hienoa!

 

Aikuisille ompelin tänä vuonna sammutuspeitteen suojia. Vai suojan suojia? Sammutuspeitot ovat niin rumia punaisine ja tekstillisine päällisineen, että keksin ommella niille uuden päällisen. En todellakaan keksinyt päällistä itse vaan bongasin sellaisen jokunen vuosi sitten ystäväni ompelemana. Jo silloin heräsi ajatus niiden tekemisestä lahjoiksi, mutta jonnekin muiden ajatusten syövereihin se sitten jäi pitkäksi aikaa.

 

Joulun alla lähetin lähipiirille tekstiviestikyselyitä sammutuspeitteen omistamisesta. Sain vastaukseksi myöntäviä vastauksia, kuvia sekä tarkkoja tuotetietoja. Kaikilla onneksi sellainen oli! Yhden sammutuspeitteen ostin mökkeilykäyttöön. Haastavaksi sammutuspeiton suojien ompelusta teki se, että peittoja on montaa eri merkkiä, mallia ja kokoa. Muutamia peittoja vaklasin kyläilykäynneillä (salaa?) ja koitin painaa mieleeni erityispiirteitä.

 

Viime joulun lahjapostauksen avulla muistelin millaisia kankaita olen käyttänyt vuosi sitten. Kaappeja kaivelemalla löytyi samoja kankaita, joten päätin jatkaa samaa sarjaa. Kaikille tiedoksi, ne kankaat on nyt käytetty loppuun..! Yhteen pakettiin tein toivomuksesta myös roskapussipussin pienille (hedelmä)pusseille ja käsipyyhkeen keittiöön.
